Report: Trinity Fatu (Naomi) Set To Make IMPACT Wrestling Debut

Trinity Fatu, formerly known as Naomi, is reportedly set to join IMPACT Wrestling.

Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Fatu is IMPACT’s “major surprise” at the Spring Slugest TV taping on April 28. The appearance is not set to be a one-off, as Johnson wrote that it would be a start of a run in IMPACT for the former SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Fatu and IMPACT have been in discussions. He also noted that Fatu has been backstage at NJPW, ROH, and GCW shows in recent months. Per Sapp, WWE had been confident that would bring Fatu back at one point, but the company hasn’t made any main roster hires in 2023.

Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out of the May 16, 2022 episode of WWE RAW. They were the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time, and they were stripped of the titles. WWE also suspended them indefinitely. Fatu subsequently confirmed that she was no longer with the company. Ariane Andrew also noted that Naomi had been recovering from shoulder surgery.

Banks, now known as Mercedes Moné, left WWE at the end of 2022 and signed with NJPW/STARDOM; she made her debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17. Moné won the IWGP Women’s Championship by beating KAIRI at NJPW Battle in the Valley on February 18.

As of this writing, Fatu has not appeared on a pro wrestling show since her departure from WWE.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
