Mina Shirakawa has named Asuka as her dream match in wrestling, among a number of other AEW stars.
The Japanese star has wrestled numerous huge matches over the past year. Big bouts include a match with Mercedes Mone at Wrestle Dynasty and an AEW Women’s Championship clash with Toni Storm at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show last year.
Speaking with Pep Shop Collectibles, Mina Shirakawa was asked about who her dream match in wrestling was.
She named WWE’s Asuka as her absolute dream match. She revealed that Asuka regularly messages her to give advice on her matches and Mina Shirakawa sees her as a mentor. While Asuke being in WWE complicates the potential match, this remains the dream match the Japanese star would love to have in her career.
“A dream match? I respect Asuka so much. I want to say Asuka-san. Senpai. Asuka-san always guides me in the ring. She gives me advice, messages me every time—I love her, and I respect her deeply. But now, I’m in STARDOM, and she’s in WWE, so it’s difficult. Still, it’s my dream.” added Mina Shirakawa.
Mina Shirakawa Sees All AEW Women As Her Rivals
Mina Shirakawa wants to face a number of AEW wrestlers if she can’t get the dream match with Asuka.
The former Undisputed British Women’s Champion said that her goal is to be the AEW Women’s Champion, so everyone in AEW is her rival that she wants to face (and beat!).
“Every AEW wrestler is my dream opponent—my rival—because it’s still my dream to become the AEW Women’s World Champion. Every AEW wrestler is my rival.”
Mina Shirakawa is out of action definitely due to injury with no confirmation of a return date.
