Chihiro Hashimoto defeated Meiko Satomura to become the new Sendai Girls World Champion for the sixth time in her career.
Meiko Satomura defended her Sendai Girls World Championship in the main event of the promotion’s “The Top of Joshi Wrestling” show against Chihiro Hashimoto. Ironically, Satomura came into the match with more to prove as she has yet to defeat Hashimoto in singles action. With her retirement looming in sooner than ever, their Sendai Girls World Title match had extremely high stakes for both competitors.
Though Chihiro Hashimoto had the highest respect for her mentor, she did not hold back in their battle. Meiko, on the other hand, returned Hashimoto’s aggression right back at her with her own flurry of offense. However, Chihiro’s winning streak against her mentor continued as she picked up the win with a devastating powerbomb. She wins the Sendai Girls World Championship for a record-setting sixth time.
Hashimoto continues the record for the most reigns of Sendai Girls’ top belt. The post-match celebration was cut short as the new champion was visibly emotional following her win. She gave Meiko a sign of respect, realizing that it would be their final time crossing paths in a ring.
