Meiko Satomura officially puts her pro wrestling career to a close after 30 decorated years in the business.
Sendai Girls held “SATOMURA The Final” at Korakuen Hall this past April 28th in front of a jampacked crowd. The show celebrated Meiko Satomura’s final match in the main event where she teamed up with the up and coming Manami against Aja Kong and Sendai Girls World Champion Chihiro Hashimoto. Other notable names such as Jaguar Yokota, Minoru Suzuki, Ryo Mizunami, and Sareee competed on the show to honor Satomura’s career.
The main event saw a clash of two legendary competitors in joshi wrestling’s history book as Aja Kong squared off against Meiko Satomura one final time in tag action. Manami and Chihiro added further intensity into the tag match, but Aja and Meiko brought a nostalgic big fight feel especially in their ending sequences. After multiple showings of the Backfist and Death Valley Driver, Meiko Satomura picked up the win with her signature Scorpio Rising on Aja Kong.
While Aja Kong expressed her utmost respect post-match, she demanded that she and Meiko team up one final time. It was not long before Senka Akatsuki, Manami, Chihiro Hashimoto, YUNA, and Mika Iwata grouped up to take on Kong and Satomura in one last match. Each competitor got the chance to give “The Final Boss” one last taste of their offense, and Kong helped set up Chihiro for Meiko’s last Scorpio Rising in her career. The tag match ended after a 5-minute time limit draw.
