Cody Rhodes pushes for his brother, AEW star Dustin Rhodes’ WWE Hall of Fame induction.
Dustin Rhodes left WWE in 2019 after requesting his release. He debuted in AEW at Double or Nothing 2019, where he faced Cody in a memorable match. Since then, he has solidified his presence in AEW, competing in both singles and tag team divisions.
In a recent FOX News interview, Cody Rhodes said wrestlers like John Cena and Randy Orton should enter the Hall of Fame immediately after retiring. “I feel like there are certain people who should immediately go into the Hall of Fame when they’re done wrestling, and love him, hate him or indifferent, John Cena would check a box as somebody who should immediately go into the Hall of Fame. Also, Randy Orton should check a box as somebody who should immediately go into the Hall of Fame.”
He also pushed for his brother Dustin’s induction, not just for his contributions but to honor their family’s legacy. “And I’ve oftentimes said my brother. I feel like he had more if an important role in the Attitude Era and moving forward. And I think he’s extremely talented. I think I’d like to see that not just because I believe he deserves it, which he does, but I’d love to see the family just more added.”
“The Hall of Fame doesn’t mean the same to everybody if that makes any sense. To my family, the Hall of Fame is the thing – the title and then the Hall of Fame. My dad going in was such a huge deal. So, I’d love to see him joined by my brother. But yeah, Randy is somebody I’ve been thinking about a lot too. We got a lot of hopefully future Hall of Famers with us.”
Cody Rhodes believes Dustin Rhodes is worthy of the WWE Hall Of Fame
In a 2024 interview with The Schmo, Cody Rhodes discussed what it was like growing up with Dustin Rhodes playing Goldust on WWE programming. Rhodes believes Dustin was an underrated part of the Attitude Era and is worthy of the Hall of Fame.
“I think I was 14 years old when Goldust was really hitting his stride on WWE television,” Cody Rhodes said. “And I can certainly say it was a unique thing to see my friends had a lot of feelings about what Goldust was doing.”
“However, knowing how much he had subverted expectations, knowing how much he didn’t just want to be a Rhodes. He wanted to be his own thing and what he did in the lengths he went to to do it, I was very proud of Dustin throughout that whole run. Goldust is an underrated part of the Attitude Era, certainly somebody I think worthy of the Hall of Fame.”
