Things are heating up with Swerve Strickland and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.
This past Sunday night after the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view went off-air, Strickland grabbed the microphone and said “F*** Booker T.” While speaking on the latest episode of the Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker T shared his thoughts on the situation.
Booker said he woke up and wondered why his name was trending again. Once he saw the reason, he knew it was a bad move on the part of Strickland because making those comments right after a pay-per-view resulted in people talking about Booker T, and not the pay-per-view.
“I see the video of Swerve Strickland saying, ‘F Booker T’ at the end of Dynasty. I’m not gonna even get upset about it. I’m going to give Swerve Strickland a little bit of advice,” Booker said. “Don’t be talking about something other than the pay-per-view at the end of the night. That’s the main event and the last thing people are going to remember. The last thing people are going to remember is me and my name being said.”
Booker said he’s sure Tony Khan doesn’t appreciate his name being a headline instead of the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, calling it a bad move. He went on to say that he’s not one to talk behind someone’s face and would rather it be face to face. Despite Swerve’s comments, Booker is still rooting for him and hopes he has a great career.
Booker T says DJ Vlad is the main person who benefitted off of this feud
Booker T also claimed that the only one who is reaping the fruits of this so-called heat is DJ Vlad as he was the one who stirred the pot starting this beef. The last thing Booker thought he’d hear was Swerve saying ‘Fuck Booker T,’ noting how he just tries to be an advocate for Black talent, and young people in general.
“I thought this was over with, I really did. The last thing I thought about was waking up this morning to [Swerve saying], ‘F You,’” Booker said. “I wish nothing but the best for [Swerve], I want to see him succeed. Would I ever say anything positive about him ever again? Probably not.”
Booker said he probably won’t talk about Swerve being a good worker and transformational talent again, noting he’s learned his lesson and doesn’t bring personal beefs to work.
