TNA hopes the United States and Canada can find common ground in pro wrestling.
TNA is co-hosting a live event called ‘The Border Brawl’ with Zone·ify on May 25. The event takes place on the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls border, and now the promotion wants United States President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in attendance.
TNA extended VIP invites to both Donald Trump and Mark Carney to attend the event, hoping to put politics aside in the spirit of some great pro wrestling action.
“The level of political sparring in the U.S. – Canada trade and tariff talks has been a spectacle, to say the least,” said Doug Edwards, President of Zone·tv. “Having our two leaders settle this at the ‘Border Brawl’ wrestling event may be the best and most entertaining way to get the deals done.”
TNA’s “The Border Brawl” will stream free across Canada and the United States on Zone·ify. Tickets go on sale through Tickets.com and Zone.tv on Thursday at 10 am. According to TNA, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit “nonprofit organizations supporting injured veterans and active-duty service members — a meaningful cause on both sides of the border.”
Who will be at The Border Brawl?
The Border Brawl event will also feature legends like Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, “The Mountie” Jacques Rougeau, Kelly Kelly (Barbie Blank) and UFC icon Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. A lineup featuring TNA Wrestling stars will be announced at a future date.
“Whether you’re red, white, and blue… or red and white with a maple leaf, this is the one time you’ll want your politicians ringside instead of stonewalling in Ottawa or DC,” read a press release issued to WrestleZone. “And who knows? If Trump and Carney show up, they might just find common ground — or at least agree that body slams speak louder than sanctions.”
