Former WWE Superstar Maven recently shared a story about Triple H‘s bachelor party before his 2003 wedding to Stephanie McMahon. According to him, WWE made a massive effort to get almost the entire roster to attend the celebration. However, Triple H himself barely spent any time there.
What was supposed to be a celebration for Triple H ended up feeling more like a mandatory event for much of the roster. Moreover, the brief appearance makes sense given Triple H’s reputation. Unlike many wrestlers, he has long been known for avoiding the heavy partying lifestyle and rarely drinking alcohol.
Triple H arrived just before his bachelor party ended
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Maven recalled that the party took place during a busy week of WWE live events. He said the WWE even adjusted travel schedules to make sure wrestlers stayed in town long enough to attend.
“I remember when he and Steph were about to get married, the company actually forced us to go to his Bachelor Party. And you’re saying, ‘Maven, how did they force you to go to his bachelor party?’ Here’s how- We would fly in on Friday, wrestle three non-televised house shows, then on Monday Night do Monday Night RAW, and then fly home on Tuesday. Well, the company decided to have the Bachelor Party on a Tuesday night in a North Carolina strip club, and they conveniently made sure our flights were for Wednesday. We had to go,” Maven said.
Maven explained that most wrestlers felt obligated to attend. At the time, Triple H was one of WWE’s biggest stars and had cultivated immense influence backstage. Because of that, wrestlers didn’t want to be remembered as the person who skipped such an important event. However, it was Triple H himself who wasn’t there for most of the night.
“I can’t remember anyone not showing up. Why? Well, of course, I was there because I like strip clubs but most of the guys didn’t want to be the one that didn’t show up to Triple H’s bachelor party. Well, actually, there was one guy that didn’t show up. Who would that guy be? Triple H himself. We were in the club the entire night and he would show up the last 20 minutes before closing time,” he said.
By then, the night was almost over.
