PWA King of the Metro Results: The Tuckman Outlasts 29 Others, Charli Evans Retains PWA Heavyweight Title

The King of the Metro has been crowned in Pro-Wrestling Australia.

Last Friday, wrestling fans in Sydney, Australia gathered at The Metro Theatre for PWA’s 2025 King of the Metro, complete with a 30-person battle royal and three title matches.

In the show’s opening contest, Robbie Eagles successfully defended the Soul of PWA title courtesy of a running enziguiri to a kneeling Michael Spencer. Eagles has stood as the Soul of PWA Champion for nearly 440 days now, beginning with a victory over The Tuckman in April 2024. Due to the outcome of the King of the Metro main event, the time will soon meet again.

Entering from the number one position, Tuckman faced heavy odds heading into the King of the Metro Rumble. Still, Tuckman remained resilient, scoring notable eliminations on Backman and Robbie Thorpe before going squaring off with Jack J. Bonza, the 30th entrant, as the final two competitors. Bonza seemed on the verge of victory when he put Tuckman in position for the Napalm Thunder Driver. Before Bonza could throw him over the top rope, however, Tuckman countered the move and instead sent Bonza up and over to the outside.

With his King of the Metro win, The Tuckman circled the Soul of PWA Championship for his guaranteed title match. He will now challenge Eagles for it at PWA The Climb on August 1.

Elsewhere at King of the Metro, The Backslide Girlz’s Shay Kassidy and Everett Connors successfully defended their PWA Tag Team Championships against The Velocities Paris De Silva and Jude London). The winning pinfall came after Connors hit a springboard stunner on London, which Kassidy transitioned into a backslide.

Finally, Charli Evans met her first test as PWA Heavyweight Champion when she put the title on the line against Kai Drake. Despite Drake’s valiant effort, Evans emerged victorious via a wrenching ankle lock submission.
