Joe Hendry vs. Wes Lee

Lee gets caught up yucking it up with Williams at ringside and ends up eating a lariat by Hendry. Hendry and Williams have a staredown at the commentary desk.

After the break, Lee takes control after outside interference by Igwe. Second rope Phoenix splash by Lee. Both members of High Ryse hop up on the apron. Mike Santana hits the ring and takes both men out. Back in the ring, Hendry hits the Standing Ovation on Lee for the win.

Winner- Joe Hendry

Grade: B-

Solid TV match. Hendryhase cooled off a bit, and quite honestly, Mike Santan is the better option to dethrone Williams as the champion eventually. Hendry should move on to NXT or main roster WWE. It’s Santana’s time to be the face of TNA.

This event is ongoing. This information will be updated as the event progresses.

Luca Speaks

Luca Crusifino says he wants to put all of this stuff to bed and asks Tony D’Angelo to come to the ring so they can talk. D’Angelo has an issue with Crusifino calling the Don to the ring. D’Angelo says Crusifino screwed him and cost him the Heritage Cup. Crusifino says D’Angelo talks about loyalty, fine, they can talk about loyalty. Crusifino lists all the things he has done for the family. Stacks walks down the ramp and thanks Crusifino for helping him in. D’Angelo gets in Crusifino’s face. Crusifino decks D’Angelo. Stacks rolls in and puts his arm around Crusifino. Crusifino decks Stacks. Crusifino says his loyalty lies with himself and walks off.

Myles Borne vs. Lexis King

King is in control early. Borne fires up after King slaps him in the face. Borne lands a flurry of strikes and suplexes. Olympic slam by Borne. King kicks out. King tries to cheat. Borne hits a ZigZag for the win.

Winner- Myles Borne

Grade: C+

Quick match. Not much to see here. Borne may be in trouble not being attached to a group. He needs an actual angle to try to sink his teeth into. Not 100% sure whatever this thing is with King is it.

Lainey Reid vs. Thea Hail

Hail is all over Reid as soon as the bell rings. Reid counters Hail with a German suplex. Reid works over Hail. Hail fires up and lands a spear for a near fall. Reid sets up a suplex, but Hail almost turns it into the Kimura. After a roll up exchange, Reid tries pinning Hail with her feet on the ropes. The referee catches it. Reid destroys Hail with a running knee. Reid pins Hail with her hand on the rope.

Winner- Lainey Reid

Grade: C+

This one was way too quick. Hail is fun to watch, and though we got to see a bit more of Reid’s personality here with her cheating to win, but we need to see more of her in-ring ability. Can’t do that in such a short match.

Grade: C+

Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley vs. Sol Ruca and Zaria

Ruca and Zaria are in control early. Things come to a head when Zaria accidentally spears Ruca after Paxley pushes Dame out of the way. Dame picks up the pin.

Winners- Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley

Grade: B

Good match, with a solid finish.

NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Jasper Troy vs. Yoshiki Inamura

Troy tries to run over Inamura. Inamura stands tall. Troy counters Inamura with a sidewalk slam. Troy works over Inamura. After the break, Troy continues his assault. Inamura fires up, but walks into a Black Hole Slam. Inamura avoids a splash and fires back with Sumo chops. Spinning slam by Inamura. Inamura hits his splash for the win.

Winner- Yoshiki Inamura

NXT Champion Oba Femi walks out on the ramp and has a staredown with Inamura. Back in the ring, Je’Von Evans drops Troy with a springboard cutter.

Grade: C+

Another just ok, semi-forgettable affair. The best part of this one happened after the bell rang.

Jordynne Grace

Jordynne Grace says getting to this point has been the hardest thing she’s done, but it’s been worth it. Grace puts over the locker room and the Evolution PLE. As the crowd cheers Grace on as she admits to being insecure about if she deserves to be here. Fatal Influence interrupts. The NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne dumps on Grace for not being worthy. Jayne says everyone keeps saying she is the most beatable champ in history, but she’s at the top of her game.

Jayne says Grace and Blake Monroe both think they can walk in here and do whatever they want. Grace tells Jayne to shut up. Grace says she’s going to become NXT Women’s Champion. Jayne takes a swing at Grace. Grace blocks it and knocks Jayne on her butt. Fatal Influence attacks Grace. Blake Monroe makes the save. NXT GM Ava walks out on the stage and books a tag team match. At The Great American Bash, Fatal Influence will take on Grace and Monroe. Henley and Jayne run back to the ring and get beaten up by Monroe and Grace again.

Grade: B-

This one was a bit long, but fun. Grace needs to get to the point a bit quicker if she doesn’t want to lose the people. The match at Evolution felt like a step in the right direction for Grace, but the inclusion of Monroe makes this writer think the Jayne/Grace match will just be a building block to get to the Jayne/Monroe match.

WWE NXT Review:

Tonight’s show was full of rushed matches and never-ending promos. Not exactly the best look as we build to the Great American Bash and Evolution.

Rating: C+
