Kevin Knight is ready to go All In.
Knight, one half of the JetSpeed team with Mike Bailey, spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of AEW All In: Texas. There, JetSpeed will be one of two teams challenging The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW Tag Team Championship. Knight believes he and Bailey have an advantage going into the match due to being familiar with their opponents’ respective work.
“I grew up watching all of these guys. So, I feel like I’m actually at an advantage coming into the ring with them because I know all of their moves,” Knight explained. “I know all of their tendencies. I know what they are good at, I know what they are not good at. And you say I get to work with them, I would flip it in my head that they are working with me. They might not know too much about me and Speedball. They might not know what we are really about. So, that gives us an upper hand in my book.”
He also loves being taken lightly because it gives him a chance to shock everyone in the ring.
“I keep everything positive. And that’s how I look at all of these teams. And Hurt Syndicate, they are tough. They are not backing down from nobody. But neither [are we]. So, we love being taken lightly. We love being overlooked,” Knight added. “Because that’s when we gonna smash ‘em right in their mouth. Because they have no idea what’s going to hit ‘em. So, it’s a great problem to have for me and Speedball.”
Kevin Knight on AEW potentially having more daytime shows
AEW All In is just one of the many wrestling events planned for this weekend. WWE also has NXT The Great American Bash, Saturday Night’s Main Event that day, and WWE Evolution the following evening. AEW elected to run a matinee event, starting All In at 2 pm CT. This was seen by some as a way to avoid WWE’s counterprogramming practice (which is not expected to end anytime soon). A matinee show does allow for an earlier day, but Knight highlighted some of the issues that talent face with earlier events.
“I think there’s pros and cons to having early and later shows. Because, yes, like you said, we can enjoy the show afterwards and everything. But the call time is going to be super early,” Knight said. “You have to have your morning coffee or morning tea, whatever wakes you up. And the days if you are starting way earlier, there might not be any time to hit the gym. And may not be enough time to get your morning routine right. But you do get the luxury of enjoying and relaxing after. So, I think there’s pros and cons to having a little bit of a day show and a nighttime show as well.”

Kevin Knight gives his Magic City review
Kevin Knight, Mark Briscoe, Mike Bailey and Will Ospreay won a $400,000 Prize match on the April 9 episode of AEW Dynamite. The stipulation resulted in some funny segments featuring the four teammates dreaming of ways to spend their prize money. Knight said he was hitting up Magic City, known in many circles as Atlanta’s premier strip club.
Kevin Knight gave the chicken wings at Magic City a perfect 10 out of 10 score on social media, so we asked for a more in-depth review about what makes them so good. Knight said Magic City isn’t just about the entertainment, it’s a full experience.
“[A] big reason why [I gave it a 10/10], there’s a wide range of flavors that they have. It’s not just plain, hot, honey barbeque; they got all flavors for all palates. They got that, plus the hot honey garlic, plus the garlic parmesan, teriyaki, sweet and sour, and many more. And every single sauce that they do is to the T. It’s not like they half-ass it…
“You know how some spots are good at the sweet sauces and they are not too good at the other ones? [Magic City is] good at every other flavor that you give them. And they coming out crispy, they coming out hot, not soggy. And they complement the fries perfectly. To me, that’s a great trait. The fries got to be able to match the wings. Once you get that combination and you get the full experience, entertainment outside of the food, it’s 10 out of 10.”
Kevin Knight isn’t getting ahead of himself, so he hasn’t picked a similar venue for a victory party in Dallas. Knight says he’s focused on his match Sunday, pointing out that The Hurt Syndicate has been “putting it on us the last couple weeks,” so JetSpeed is looking to get their chance at comeuppance in Dallas.
AEW All In: Texas takes place on Saturday, July 12 at Globe Life Field. Check out our full interview with Kevin Knight below:
