Winner- Jaida Parker
Parker eyeballs the NXT and TNA Knockouts Champion Jacy Jayne. As Parker leaves, Jayne berates Nyx for losing.
Grade: B
This was a solid match. Parker looks better and better in the ring. Given that she oozes charisma, Parker may be the complete package. Nyx impressed tonight. We haven’t gotten to see her in the ring as often, since she generally acts as the second for Henley or Jayne. It will be interesting to see what happens with this feud as it moves forward. Jayne seems to be feuding with the entire women’s locker room all at once, so who knows if Parker will be the one to put Jayne down…
The Young OG
Je’Von Evans says he got some advice from The Undertaker to challenge the biggest dog in the yard. TNA Champion Trick Williams interrupts. Williams goes on and on about being the biggest box office attraction in TNA and NXT. The worst mistake Evans can make is trying Trick Willy. Evans tells Williams he wasn’t even talking about Williams. Evans was talking about NXT Champion Oba Femi. Williams says he saw lust in Femi’s eyes when he looked at the TNA Championship.

Maybe Williams should take what Femi has and take over two brands. Evans notes that if Williams gets in his way, he will take Williams out of the equation. Wes Lee and High Ryse are out next. Lee says it’s not Evans’ time, and if he steps to Williams High Ryse will take Evans out. High Ryse surrounds Evans. Evans says he’ll take care of Lee tonight, but for right now, he’s going down swinging. Evans decks Lee. Williams and everyone else jump Evans. Lee says he’s going to talk to NXT GM Ava to make their match official.
Grade: B-
Evans is getting better on the mic. The Young OG is getting comfortable in the ring outside of flipping all over the place, and that’s the missing piece for him to step up to the next level. All signs point to Evans eventually dethroning Femi, as there have been rumblings of a call-up for the current champion.
Tavion Heights vs. Charlie Dempsey w/Wren Sinclair (If Heights wins, he’s out of the NQCC)
Heights takes control early, running over Dempsey and locking in a few submission holds. Both men go down after they both attempt simultaneous crossbody blocks. After the break, Dempsey tries to trap Heights on the ring steps like he did in their last match. Joe Hendry flashes on the screen. That was… odd. Heights avoids it but gets chop-blocked. Dempsey works on Heights’ injured leg. Outside the ring, Sinclair is going nuts, looking for a towel to throw in as Heights refuses to tap out. Height escapes and fires up, landing a flurry of offense. Heights suprises Dempsey with a belly-to-belly for the win.
Winner- Tavion Heights
After the match, Heights and Demsey shake hands.
Grade: B
The crowd was hot for this one. Dempsey was vicious out there tonight. Height fought from underneath and eventually conquered the leader of the No Quarter Catch Crew. Does Dempsey reload the squad, or is this it for the group? What do you all think? Let us know in the comments below!
The Glamour has Arrived
Monroe grabs a mic and tells Booker T that her name is Blake Monroe. Monroe throws a bunch of old pics of Jordynne Grace when she was a powerlifter and was much heavier. The crowd boos while Monroe says Grace is fit to carry this brand because she doesn’t look like Monroe does. Lola Vice interrupts and says she doesn’t understand how someone so beautiful can be so ugly inside. Vice says Monroe isn’t fit to run this place. Jaida Parker is out next. Parker dumps on Vice for needing others to be relevant. Jordynne Grace’s music hits.
Kelani Jordan walks out instead. Jordan coyly quips that she isn’t the Jordan they were looking for. Jordan challenges Monroe to a match tonight. Monore says that’s cute; Jordan finally got a personality. Monroe says she can put Jordan in a hospital bed next to Grace. Before Jordan can respond, Monroe headbutts Jordan. Everyone brawls. Vice and Jordan clear the ring outside the ring. Monroe holds onto Parker. Parker pushes Monroe away.
Grade: C+
Every week, it’s the same thing with the NXT Women’s division. A promo with multiple interruptions and a brawl. This is getting old. With that said, Monroe works better as a snooty heel than a smiling face. This thing got messy fast, but the brawl after the fact was fun.
Fallon Henley vs. Lash Legend
Legend tosses Henley all over the ring. Joe Hendry flashes on the screen again. Henley takes control after a cheap shot. Henley works over Legend. Legend fires up, Henley tries a double jump dropkick, but Legend pushes Henley out of the ring. After distractions from Nyx and Jayne, Legend stands tall. Nia Jax appears and attacks Legend from behind. Jax tosses Legend back into the ring. Henley lands a rocker dropper for the win.
Winner- Fallon Henley
Grade: C
Standard stuff here. The Nia Jax surprise was a good one. Jax is an interesting way to divert Legend away from the NXT Women’s Championship while Jayne finishes up with Parker… or is it Grace? Monroe? One of the other 57 people she has beef with.
Je’Von Evans vs. Wes Lee w/High Ryse
Trick Williams is at the commentary desk for the match. Evans lands a dive before Lee gets in the ring. Lee fires back, but eats a springboard clothesline from Evans. Evans goes up top. Evans lands a coast-to-coast front flip dropkick. Frog Splash by Evans. Lee somehow kicks out. After High Ryse tries to get invovled, Evans takes everyone out with a dive. Lee suprises Evans with a Cardiac Kick. Evans foot ends up on the ropes, breaking the pin. Cutter by Evans. Evans lands a super cutter for the win.
Winner- Je’Von Evans
After the match, Williams stands on the commentary desk holding up his championship. NXT Champion Oba Femi appears in the crowd. Everyone stares each other down.
Grade: B
Good match, but Lee kicking out of literally everything was a bit of a choice.
NXT North American Title Match: Ethan Page (c) vs. Santino Marella
Marella takes Page down and gets a near fall. Page struggles as Marella rolls him into several pinning combinations. Page takes control after stunning Marella on the top rope. Marella takes Page up in an airplane spin that sends both men careening to the mat. Ace Crusher by Marella. Page is down. Leaping headbutt by Marella. Page kicks out. Page takes over and goes up top. Marella gets his knees up as Page tries a frog splash. The crowd goes nuts. Marella fires up and lands a flurry of offense. Marella sets up the Cobra. Page pulls the referee in the way. In the confusion, Page pokes Marella in the eye and hits the Twisted Grin for the win.
Winner and STILL NXT North American Champion, Ethan Page!
Grade: C+
Let’s be honest, no one has ever waited with baited breath for a Santino Marella match. This contest doesn’t change that notion on any level. This match was a bit of a slog, and Marella seems to be moving at half speed, which is better than most, but not exactly thrilling to watch. Now that this match is over, this writer has no idea what’s next for the NXT/TNA “feud.” Let us know what you think below!
WWE NXT Review
Tonight’s show was uneven, featuing a mixed back of solid matches and so-so encounters. The main event was underwhelming, but opening contest between Jaida Parker and Jaxmyn Nyx coupled with Je’Von Evans battling Wes Lee inject much needed sports entertainmint into the night.
