Paul Heyman took a playful shot at WWE legend Tommy Dreamer during the opening segment of Monday’s WWE RAW.
Heyman joined Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed in the ring tonight. As he bragged about everyone’s accomplishments, Jey Uso interrupted. After some back and forth between Uso and Breakker, Heyman intervened. He said the only way for the two to settle it was in a match created by legends.
Heyman then began waxing poetic on the Extreme Rules match. He talked about various ECW legends like The Sandman, New Jack, Rob Van Dam, and the late, great Sabu. He then brought up “the late, great Tommy Dreamer,” before stopping and saying “Yeah, I know he’s not dead yet, but he should be.”
The crowd clearly took the joke well, laughing along with Heyman. Breakker also stopped Heyman, and playfully asked if Dreamer was “still alive,” to which Heyman said “yeah, unfortunately.”
Dreamer and Heyman have a longstanding history with one another. The legend — who currently works at TNA Wrestling in a backstage role — has not always been a fan of Paul. It seems like Heyman is able to take their past in jest, though, and crack jokes about it.
