Karrion Kross Answers Whether His WWE Departure Is a Work

Karrion Kross has finally answered the question about his WWE departure that he’s been asked repeatedly since August.

The former two-time NXT Champion, Karrion Kross, and his wife, Scarlett, left WWE after their contracts expired. Kross had been a popular star before his departure, but the company seemed to fail to capitalize on his popularity.

Many fans, however, have continued to wonder if Kross’ departure is part of a storyline. This speculation intensified after Seth Rollins faked an injury to defeat CM Punk for the world title at SummerSlam 2025.

Karrion Kross explains why his WWE departure isn’t a work

During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Karrion Kross was asked directly if his WWE departure was a work.

“There are hundreds of people who have been coming to the table, a lot of them angry because they were hoping it was a work and there would be a payoff,” Kross explained. “I would never work somebody like that. To me, it’s not in good taste. Running an angle where you lose your job and upset people is not something I would do. I understand why people thought it was going to be a work, they were hoping it was going to be a work.”

Scarlett chimed in by saying some of their peers thought it was a work, prompting Kross to pull a text from one of his co-workers to prove their point.

“A lot of the guys didn’t know,” he said. “We were like, ‘Let’s see what happens. Maybe they’ll recover the situation.’ We remained somewhat quiet about it.” [H/T Fightful]
