Killer Kross, formerly known as Karrion Kross in WWE, recently shared a surprising backstage story.
Kross revealed an incident involving a headset backstage. According to him, WWE changed a rule shortly afterward. During his final year with WWE, Kross was not always featured on television. When he wasn’t being used on shows, he looked for ways to learn more about the business.
Instead of sitting around while waiting for airtime, he often spent time in the production truck and listened to agents and producers on headsets to better understand the business.
Killer Kross says WWE changed a backstage rule
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Killer Kross recalled one particular moment that stood out.
“There was one time I was on the headset and after that, nobody was allowed on the headset. We can’t talk about that yet. I just wanted to make the most out of the day. We didn’t have anything for that particular day.”
“And I sat down in Gorilla on the headset, and it wasn’t the first time I’d ever done that. And I was on the headset in the truck anyways. And, I think it was like the next week. I didn’t say a word. It didn’t cause a problem, you know. The next week, no one was allowed to do that anymore. So I thought that was weird.”
When asked why he believed the rule changed. Kross admitted he still doesn’t know the exact reason. Kross said, “I don’t know, maybe I heard things I shouldn’t have heard.”
