Nikki Bella says she wants to have a chat with Wade Barrett about his recent remarks about her.
During the WWE Clash In Paris pre-show, Wade Barrett, Michael Cole and Big E were discussing the Intercontinental Championship match featuring Bella and Becky Lynch. Barrett took issue with Bella calling Becky Lynch desperate to stay at the top, instead saying Nikki was desperate to recapture the former glory she once enjoyed in her own era.
Barrett began by praising Bella for her work in the era, but some took issue when he implied she was rusty and said Nikki was “desperate to prove she still has it against this new generation that have changed the game.”
Nikki addressed these comments on a new episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, saying she wanted to speak with him at RAW. However, she claims he avoided her.

“I would like to have a conversation with Wade Barrett. He avoided me on Monday, which was shocking, because he always comes up and says hi to me. He tried to avoid making eye contact with me in the hallway,” Nikki Bella explained. “And I understand when you want to be a ‘heel commentator’ and stuff, but then there’s one thing of — Michael Cole does this beautifully.
“This is why Michael Cole is one of the greatest commentators. He knows how to take a life story and put it into what we do, because that is real. We’re not — we don’t go out there as robots or superheroes. We are actually professional athletes and we go through real things and we have to [make that] part of it. And honestly, it really doesn’t bother me. I get it. I was watching the pre-show and I saw what Wade was saying about me in the preshow. I’m sitting there getting ready in the locker room, like ‘That’s fine…’
Brie joked that they won’t be sending Wade a Christmas card.
One of the ways Michael Cole turned the segment around was telling Barrett he looked his age while Nikki didn’t, which got a belly laugh out of Big E. Cole then spoke about how resilient Nikki is compared to the past, noting how much she’s gone through personally to get back to WWE.
