Nikki Bella‘s return to the ring already happened this year. She’s still holding out hope that Brie Bella will follow her.
Nikki and Brie have talked about their respective in-ring returns for several years. Nikki finally made it happen at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Many fans asked when Brie would join her, and the twins continued to tease that it might happen. Nikki has continued to compete in WWE since then, including her upcoming match against Becky Lynch at WWE Clash In Paris. However, Brie’s return has yet to materialize, which she says is partially due to her husband, Bryan Danielson’s ties to All Elite Wrestling.
Nikki spoke with Rick Ucchino for The Takedown on Sports Illustrated and said she keeps pushing for Brie’s return. It’s something other women in WWE want too, and she doesn’t believe Brie’s marital situation should determine if she gets to come back.
“I keep pushing it. All the women want her back and they keep asking me every week has that decision changed,” Nikki said. “I don’t think legacies should be determined on spouses, but I also understand business.”
Despite not having Brie by her side, Nikki believes WWE is more open to the idea now.
“I do think [WWE is] becoming more and more open to it. I understand it takes time and we just have to figure things out,” she added. “There’s so much business to figure out, and Brie and I both completely understand that.”
This week’s episode of WWE RAW saw Nikki and Becky Lynch get into a war of words before making their title match official. During the promo, Nikki insinuated that Lynch, WWE’s Women’s Intercontinental Champion, was a certain “C-word.” However, it was Lynch who found herself in hot water after Kelly Osbourne took issue with The Man’s comments about her late father, Ozzy, during the segment, which took place in his hometown of Birmingham, England. According to a recent report, WWE has considered issuing a public apology over the ordeal.
