Ryback has weighed in on one of pro wrestling’s most notorious questions concerning Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.
On a recent episode of his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker reflected on the outcome of his WrestleMania XXX match against The Beast, noting that it wasn’t up to him to make the final decision regarding the end of his legendary streak.
“It’s not my decision,” The Undertaker said. “People ask me all the time, ‘Well, why did you do it?’ Well, I didn’t really have a choice. I guess I did have a choice—I didn’t have to do it,” he explained, before adding that he tried to make the best of what was given to him.
“You have to look at this business…there’s a lot of people that probably didn’t want to put me over to get me into that position, and they did it, and it’s just kind of the way it works,” he said. “Wasn’t my decision. So I had to make the best of the hand that was dealt me.”
Ryback says Brock Lesnar was the ‘perfect guy’ to end the streak
Former WWE Superstar Ryback recently took to X/Twitter to share his thoughts on Vince McMahon choosing Brock Lesnar to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, calling Lesnar the “perfect guy” for the job.
“Brock Lesnar was actually the perfect guy chosen,” he wrote. “Sure, it would’ve been amazing to keep the streak, but Brock has helped make Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins into top stars. He’ll likely help 2–3 more before it’s done. In that sense, he was the perfect guy.”
Brock Lesnar made his WWE in-ring return against John Cena at WrestlePalooza, dropping the 17-time Undisputed Champion with a barrage of F5s to secure the win. The decision for Lesnar to go over was reportedly Cena’s call, as he “wants to make people” on his way out of the company. However, many wrestling fans online took exception to the outcome, with ESPN’s Andreas Hale giving the match a C-.
