WWE Hall of Famer Blames Tiffany Stratton for Botch on SmackDown

Last week on Friday Night SmackDown, the WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton put her title on the line in a Triple Threat match against Jade Cargill and Nia Jax. While Stratton managed to retain her title, the closing segment of the bout was a bit awkward. There was a horrible botch when the Buff Barbie was covering Jax, the referee only counted to two, then after almost ten seconds, the Irresistible Force kicked. This spot left the fans puzzled. Now, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray shared his thoughts on the botch.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray mentioned that he believes Tiffany Stratton missing her cue was the reason for the botch.

“You see Jade sit on Nia’s chest and hook both of her legs,” Bully began. “Nia is looking towards her left, and Nia is looking at Tiffany Stratton. Why is Nia looking at Tiffany Stratton? Because Nia knows that Tiffany is responsible for making the save. Nia realizes that Tiffany is not going to be there in time… Tiffany is definitively late, which puts Nia in a bad position where she has to kick out. The ref swiped on three because she clearly does not think that this is the finish.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]

Bully Ray does not understand one thing

Bully Ray then shared that one thing that he does not understand is why Nia Jax wanted to have a conversation with the referee.

“What I don’t understand is why Nia decides to have a conversation with the referee. Nia turns to her right and starts going, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. The ref is looking at Nia, trying to understand what the hell is going on… I don’t think I’ve ever seen blatant communication like I saw there.”

Ray shared that Jax asking ‘what happened’ to the referee made it clear that Stratton was supposed to steal the victory. But at the same time, the Hall of Famer is convinced that Stratton was supposed to steal the win from Jade Cargill, but since she was late to the spot, Jax was forced to kick out.

“What I think was supposed to happen was that Tiffany Stratton was supposed to steal the victory from Jade Cargill. Jade hits the black hole, slam, one, two. Tiffany hits the basement, drop kick, the baseball side, drop kick, and then covers and gets the 123,” Bully Ray said.

Tiffany Stratton is now set to face Stephanie Vaquer at Crown Jewel to determine the new Women’s Crown Jewel champion.
