Bayley’s WWE contract and her future in the company have become one of the biggest talking points of WWE in the past few days after her loss to Lyra Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Lyra choked Bayley unconscious and attacked her again after the match, leaving many wondering if it was Bayley’s final WWE appearance.
The rumors grew even stronger when Valkyria said on RAW that she “ran Bayley out of here.” However, a new backstage report suggests there is no clear sign that the former Damage CTRL leader is officially done with WWE.
Bayley has reportedly not signed a new WWE deal
According to Fightful Select, people inside WWE could not confirm that Bayley has been written off TV, despite Valkyria’s comments.
The report says:
“The expectation is that Bayley’s WWE deal is up by the end of the year, if injury time isn’t added. As of now, WWE sources claim she has not signed a new deal. It is expected that the company would want to retain her.”
Even though there have been reports that WWE is trying to reduce costs and has discussed pay cuts with some talent, the company is still expected to make a serious effort to keep The Role Model.
However, another report from Fightful Select says that one agent believes Bayley should try free agency for some time till she comes up with a better new WWE contract.
The report says:
“One agent said that they believe Bayley should, at minimum, test free agency. They also feel her negotiations could help reshape how top WWE talent approach contract talks moving forward.”
Her contract situation has also caught AEW’s attention. Fightful reports that people within AEW have talked about signing Bayley for almost a year. If she becomes a free agent, the company is expected to have strong interest in bringing her in.
Her close friendship with Mercedes Moné has only added to those rumors. Moné recently hinted at a possible match with Bayley on Instagram, which got fans talking even more.
