Sami Zayn’s open challenge for the United States Championship continues this week on WWE SmackDown, and it looks like we already know who his opponent is—thanks to all the spoilers finding their way on the internet.
WWE brought the October 10 episode of SmackDown to Perth, Australia. International viewers can catch all the action on Netflix, while the U.S. audience will be able to watch the show when it airs on tape delay at its usual time of 8 p.m. EST on the USA Network.
During the show, Sami Zayn came down to the ring to discover who would answer his weekly WWE United States Championship open challenge. To Zayn’s and the crowd’s surprise, the challenge was accepted by none other than Shinsuke Nakamura, who also brought back his classic theme, “The Rising Sun.”
Unfortunately for Nakamura, he failed to pick up the win after an attack by a returning Tama Tonga caused the match to end in a no contest. Tonight marked Nakamura’s first WWE match since June 13, 2025. It appears that Nakamura vs. Tama Tonga is the direction for these returning superstars.
