Triple H reportedly has a vision for himself as it pertains to his future in WWE management. And it sounds a lot like what Dana White does with the UFC.
In recent months, many fans have directed blame towards Chief Content Officer Triple H for current WWE storylines not being as strong as they were just a couple of years ago.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H has missed multiple WWE shows as of late. This has led to people behind the scenes saying that Hunter’s current political priorities outside of the company are hurting WWE.
Despite that, one source close to Triple H disagrees with these claims. Noting that his schedule is worked out in advance, and he hasn’t missed any creative meetings during his absence.
Triple H reportedly has “Dana-envy”
Where many fans believe Hunter should be focused on getting the creative portion of WWE back on track, sources state that he’s more focused on becoming the Dana White of the company to position himself as the face of the brand. One source specifically described Triple H’s goals as “Dana-envy.” While another source doesn’t believe Hunter’s play to become the Dana White of WWE has hurt the product at all.
While Hunter isn’t around 24/7 like Vince McMahon was, he still stays on top of everything related to the product. Although one source questioned whether he cares more about how the product comes across on WWE Unreal than what is really happening behind the scenes.
Triple H doesn’t seem to be phased by many fans being unhappy with the current creative product. And Hunter believes he can hold off on bigger matches and storylines due to how much revenue the company is currently making.
