WWE SmackDown saw another decrease in viewership on October 10, with an early airing on Netflix internationally.
According to Wrestlenomics, SmackDown averaged 1.025 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.22 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is slightly down from last week’s episode, when an average of 1.030 million viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week’s show (0.23 rating in the same demographic).
Friday’s episode of SmackDown aired internationally at 8 AM ET on Netflix. It aired in its normal timeslot at 8 PM ET in the United States on the USA Network.
What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?
This week’s show kicked off with a promo from Cody Rhodes, who hyped up his Crown Jewel match against Seth Rollins that weekend. Following the segment, they teased a future match between Rhodes and Jacob Fatu.
WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated Women’s United States Champion Giulia and Kiana James to build to Stratton and Vaquer’s big match on Saturday at WWE Crown Jewel.
Elsewhere on the show, a returning Shinsuke Nakamura (with old entrance theme and all) answered Sami Zayn’s US Title Open Challenge. The match ended in a no-contest when Tama Tonga returned, and the MFTs laid out both men.
In the main event of the evening, Zelina Vega appeared alongside her husband Aleister Black on WWE programming for the first time to help him defeat Damian Priest in a Last Man Standing match.
