Chris Bey Emotionally Reflects On One-Year Anniversary Of Serious Neck Injury

Chris Bey looks back on the neck injury that nearly left him paralyzed for life.

It’s been a year since TNA star Chris Bey suffered a career-altering neck injury. Bey broke his neck during the October 27, 2024, iMPACT! taping at the Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, Michigan.

He was teaming with Ace Austin against The Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Championship when the injury occurred. The match was stopped immediately, and Bey was rushed to a Detroit hospital, where he underwent neck and spinal fusion surgery.

Chris Bey has since made incredible strides on his road to recovery. He told Chris Jericho during a recent interview that he no longer needs assistance with daily tasks such as changing clothes, eating, and driving.

Chris Bey reflects on one-year anniversary of injury

Bey took to Instagram to share an emotional message on the one-year anniversary of his neck injury. He also thanked his girlfriend, Brittnie Brooks, former tag team partner Ace Austin, TNA, and the wrestling world for their support.

“Wrestling has always been my life LONG before I made it a career. Since I was 3 I’ve been addicted and I’ve known this was what I wanted to do with my life. Rarely does one get to chase and achieve their dreams. If this was to be the end of my journey, I had no regrets in the decisions I’ve made that led me to this moment. Had a lot of conversations with God, and understanding that I was still alive for a purpose made me push everyday with an unimaginable strength and drive.

“The support of my amazing girlfriend, the best tag team partner ever, TNA and the entire wrestling world kept me feeling like I mattered and I was cared about. I’m so grateful and thankful for all of it. The work from doctors and staff, top notch. Today, I celebrate life because a year ago I thought it was the end of mine. Greatest Story Ever Told is far from over. I love you all. – Chris.”

TNA President Carlos Silva presented Chris Bey with the All-Star Award before Bound For Glory. Bey also appeared during the event to announce the attendance. Fans can check out WrestleZone’s coverage of TNA Bound For Glory here.
