WWE legend Tommy Dreamer believes Jey Uso deserves a real run as World Heavyweight Champion.
On Busted Open Radio, Dreamer talked about the upcoming title match between CM Punk and Jey Uso. He said both stars have built great excitement for their match and that it should main event the show.
“Give this guy a run and let him settle in. Punk and Jay absolutely, 100%, got me so into this match because I know it’s going to be a good match, I know the fans are gonna be into it. I know it’s gonna be a top-level main event. I probably would put this on last because you are guaranteed a new champion.”
He added that a title run for Uso could work perfectly, especially with Roman Reigns still looming in the background. Dreammer also said if WWE put the title around Jey Uso it could lead to exciting storylines for the upcoming major shows.
“I’m really very much invested in this because where do you go with Jey and where do you with Punk for after. And if it’s Jey’s time again give this guy a run. Let him settle in because this can work, especially if you’ve got that guy named Roman Reigns in the background of all of this and you got Survivor Series, Rumble, Mania.”
On WWE RAW, CM Punk and Jey Uso clashed in a tense face-off ahead of their match. Jey said he’s focused only on becoming world champion again, while Punk admitted his respect for him but questioned his courage to finish the job.
Jey Uso fired back, accusing CM Punk of twisting facts, telling him, “Screw you, Punk,” and vowing to prove that he is the real “Best in the World” at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
