Glenn Jacobs Isn’t In Politics For Fame, It’s To Do The Right Thing

Glenn Jacobs says he chose politics to do the right thing and not to gain fame.

Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, AKA Kane, a legendary WWE Hall of Famer, was recently a guest on former WWE Superstar Tyrus’ Planet Tyrus podcast. After recalling his WWE career and transition into politics, Jacobs also addressed whether he’d run for President in the future.

Tyrus asked Glenn Jacobs whether the White House is something he’s interested in for the future. He claimed that Jacobs was one of the most famous Mayors in the USA and that people are not drawn towards him only because of his legendary WWE career, but because they hear the truth when he speaks.

Glenn Jacobs stated he got into politics because he wants to do the right thing, and not for fame. He said he already has all the fame in the world with his run as Kane in WWE.

“I mean, I’m going to do what’s right, or at least, what I think is right, and that’s my guide. If I don’t get re-elected or whatever, you know, that’s fine. I’m always going to be Kane, so I’ve got something to fall back on.

“I don’t need the fame, because I already have that. So, I get to do the right thing. Some people get addicted to power, you know, I’m not. Actually, I don’t even like telling people what to do.”

JBL Recently Spoke About What Hurt Glenn Jacobs’ Legacy As A Big Man Wrestler

Speaking on the Something to Wrestle podcast, WWE Hall of Famer JBL said Glenn Jacobs was second in his list of favorite big men in wrestling. He claimed that Jacobs, being a very smart person behind the scenes, takes away his monstrous on-screen character as Kane.

“Glenn’s incredibly talented,” JBL said. “I mean, Glenn could do comedy. The stuff he did with Daniel Bryan was fantastic. He could do hardcore stuff. He could also wrestle. Glenn carried a lot of matches for a 10-15 year period in WWE, that was just remarkable. I don’t know anybody else who could have that run.

“I think not just the political affiliations, but seeing him without the gimmick on, seeing him talking, he’s a very cerebral guy. He’s a very smart guy. He’s very much a student of history, especially economic history. He can lecture you on Keynesian models and all kinds of crazy things that smart people are able to lecture you on. So when you see that, it takes you away from this ‘monster’ that he was, this character that he played.”
