TNA iMPACT Results

We get an extended intro for tonight’s iMPACT. Tom Hannifan welcomes fans to Full Sail University. Mike Santana’s music hits and the former TNA World Champion appears – not from the crowd – but through the curtains. We get a recap of the final sequence between Santana and Kazarian from Turning Point. Santana places a chair in the middle of the ring and proceeds to address the fans.

The crowd is loud for Santana. Mike waits for the crowd to settle down. “I love you guys to death” are his first words. Satana says he was on top of the world just one month ago. He recalls the struggle he went through to capture the TNA World Championship. Satana credits his daughter for saving his life. He references his recent accomplishment of being sober for 1,000 days. The crowd cheers big time.

In just 24 hours later, Santana says, it was all snatched from him. Everything was taken from him. Mike says he’s a living proof of life humbling people when they think they’re at the top. He says he felt scared for the first time in his journey… from himself. Mike says he had to check in with himself before Turning Point, a reference to reports of him not showing up for the show till the main event.

Santana says he went to a meeting, which made him realize fans deserved to see him in action. He is eternally grateful for the fans that’ve been with him for the ride. He had it all in his hands but it was taken away from him. Mike tells Frankie Kazarian he shouldn’t get comfortable holding the world title. That championship is coming back to Santana. He then issues a warning for the NXT roster that attacked him days ago. Mike says he’ll come for each one of them boys because the time for warning has passed.

Frankie Kazarian and JDC backstage segment

The TNA World Champion walks in on Santino Marella having a phone call. Kazarian tells Marella he wants an apology signed by TNA President Carlos Silva after they blamed him for NXT stars ruining TNA iMPACT’s main event last week. JDC shows up and questions Kaz’s fashion choice. Kazarian insults JDC’s wife. Things get heated. JDC challenges Kaz for a world title match. Marella sets up JDC versus Eric Young for tonight’s main event. The winner gets a shot at Kazarian’s TNA World Championship at Final Resolution.

Dani Luna vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Rosemary vs. Myla Grace

  • The finish of the match saw Dani Luna hit Indi Hartwell with a steel chain for the win.

Winner: Dani Luna

Grade: B-

This was first of two four-way number one contender’s matches for the TNA Knockouts World Championship. Commercials ruined it for me but the little bit of action I saw was solid enough to pack up a B- rating. That said, the ending sequence was weird. Why was the referee distracted to set up the steel chain spot. Aren’t four-ways no disqualification? Still, I was rooting for Dani Luna and she emerged as the winner.

Eric Young sounds off on TNA iMPACT main event

Gia Miller tries to get a word from Eric Young ahead of his number one contender’s match against JDC in the main event of TNA iMPACT. EY is pissed, like he always is. He calls out TNA for downplaying him despite him being a veteran. Young vows to become the new number one contender.

Santino Marella and Arianna Grace are backstage talking about NXT’s invasion of TNA. Marella says he needs to lure NXT locker room in for payback. International Champion Steve Maclin and TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys appear. Maclin asks why Marella hasn’t come up with a strategy. Santino says he needs a bait. Jeff says they already have it as he lifts his title, teasing a tag team title defense against NXT roster.

Mance Warner vs. Matt Cardona

  • The finish of the match saw Warner hit Cardona with a loaded purse followed by the Pay Window for the win.

Winner: Mance Warner

Grade: B+

Fun little scrap between Warner and Cardona. The crowd was fully invested in the action. This writer expected Cardona to pick up the win with the Radio Silence but Steph De Lander saved her man. Let’s see what’s next for Cardona on TNA iMPACT.

WWE NXT stars send a message to TNA

We see Robert Stone and his entourage of NXT stars who attacked TNA stars at Turning Point last week. Stone says everyone thinks he masterminded the attack but they couldn’t be more wrong, teasing a higher power behind the assault. Lexis King caps off the segment by putting his own twist on the classic Humpty Dumpty rhyme.

El Paso Street Fight Challenge

Matt Cardona reacts to his loss. Cardona questions Steph for the way she aided Mance Warner despite their history. He thought Warner was his brother but this business doesn’t care about bonds. Cardona says it’s time for the Southern Psycho to face the Deathmatch King in a Street Fight in El Paso next month!

Myron Reed vs. John Skyler

  • The finish of the match saw Skyler use the ropes to pin Reed for the win.

Winner: John Skyler

Grade: A-

Match of the night so far. TNA is clearly priming Reed for a solo run. Skyler’s Order 4 attack dog gimmick is spot on. Reed almost dropped on his head with the suicide dive. That looked brutal. Jason Hotch’s distraction allowed Skyler to pick up the win. It’s far from over between The Rascalz and Order 4.

AJ Francis and Leon Slater segment

AJ Francis takes Rich Swann to task for failing to win the TNA X Division from Leon Slater at Turning Point. Slater shows up and things get heated between him and Francis. Swann tries to play the cooler head. Slater says he’ll talk to Santino Marella to set up an X Division Championship match with AJ Francis.

The search for Mr. Elegance continues on TNA iMPACT

The Elegance Brand previously announced they’re looking for a Mr. Elegance. Ash By Elegance made an appearance on tonight’s episode to continue the search. Safe to say the first contestant couldn’t handle the former TNA Knockouts World Champion. Before fans get all heated up, that was her real-life husband Ulysses Diaz.

Xia Brookside vs. Victoria Crawford vs. Killer Kelly vs. Jody Threat

  • The finish of the match saw Xia Brookside pin Killer Kelly following a Brooksy Bomb.

Winner: Xia Brookside

Grade: C+

Another match ruined by long-a** commercial break. The crowd didn’t seem invested in this one. At least Tessa Blanchard makes the matches she’s in entertaining to watch. This wasn’t the night she competed. Jody Threat should have picked up the win since she’s a history with the winner of the first four-way match, Dani Luna.

New TNA Knockout Profile

For those unaware, Jada Stone earned her TNA contract following her match against fellow Knockout Mila Moore at an Xplosion taping back in June. Jade says she was congratulated by WWE Superstar Bayley after she earned her contract with the company.

TNA Final Resolution Card

The updated match card for TNA Final Resolution on December 5 is as follows:

  • Kelani Jordan vs. Dani Luna or Xia Brookside – TNA Knockouts World Championship
  • Leon Slater vs. AJ Francis – TNA X Division Championship
  • Matt Cardona vs. Mance Warner – Street Fight
  • Mike Santana vs. Charlie Dempsey
  • Steve Maclin (c) vs. Stacks – TNA International Championship
  • The Hardys (c) vs. Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe – TNA World Tag Team Championship

Santino Marella also announced the following matches for TNA iMPACT — set to air in two weeks:

  • Hometown Man vs. Brooks Jensen
  • Mike Santana vs. Robert Stone
  • The Hardys, Steve Maclin & Cedric Alexander vs. Lexis King, Stacks, Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe

JDC vs. Eric Young

  • The finish of the match saw JDC hit an avalanche leg drop on Eric Young for the win.

Winner: JDC

Overall Grade: B-

JDC is the number one contender for the TNA World Championship. He’ll challenge Kaz for the title next month at Final Resolution. I’m thinking this is TNA’s way of saying thank you to Dirty Dango, who’s announced his decision to retire after Final Resolution. As for the rest of the episode, Santana’s opening promo was great. The Knockouts matches were ruined by commercials. Myron Reed is a future star in the ring. Last but not least, Robert Stone not pulling the strings has this writer intrigued. That’s it for this week’s TNA iMPACT and I’ll be back with the next episode.
