Oba Femi is officially back at the top of NXT and has a date with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes next week.
During tonight’s NXT Deadline event, Femi and Ricky Saints met in the ring with the NXT World Championship on the line. In a classic match, it was Femi who would come out on top. the match went outside the ring. Saints sent Femi into the steel steps and then hit a Tornado DDT onto the steps.
Femi managed to kick out once they got into the ring, though, and then reversed a Roshambo and hit a Fall From Grace. Saints kicked out, but was clearly dazed, and Femi ended the match right after with another Fall From Grace for the win.
After the match, Femi celebrated and put the belt that was once his back around his waist. An upset Saints then congratulated the new champion. For Femi, this not only gives him back his title but also sets him up with a huge match against WWE’s biggest champion, Cody Rhodes.
Femi and Rhodes will now face off at the upcoming WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match came to be after Rhodes offered up a match against the winner last night on SmackDown.
