RJ City reflects on the history of Hey! (EW).
Across four years and 165 episodes, RJ City kept wrestling guests and fans on their toes with his weekly show, titled Hey! (EW). On December 7, the show officially to an end, with City being knocked to the floor by Renee Paquette, then mocked by AEW CEO Tony Khan.
While appearing on AEW Unrestricted, City looked back on some of the series’ more positive moments, including a surprising interview with Jamie Hayter
“It was a really nice place to see people talk who don’t really get a chance to talk at that kind of length, at that kind of speed, and then they do a really good job,” City said. “I mean, obviously, there’s people like Dalton [Castle] and Mark Briscoe, where you’re like, ‘This is going to be easy.’ But then there’s other people like Jamie Hayter, who I’d never seen that side of her before. She was just down for the filth from the beginning.” (H/T to F4WOnline)
Amidst her sit-down with City (aired February 19, 2023), Hayter addressed a number of topics, including her hometown’s connection to the Titanic, Big League Chew, how wrestling has made her ADHD worse, and delivering chops to her fans during meet and greets. The two notably finished their chat with Hayter using British terms, such as “crumpsey” “boffin,” and “chunter.”
At the time of her Hey! (EW) appearance, Hayter reigned as the AEW Women’s World Champion.
