Eddie Kingston Reveals What Kept Him Going During The Pandemic

Eddie Kingston says a wrestler did some Mr. Miyagi stuff to him to keep him going during the pandemic.

Speaking to Tony Schiavone & Conrad Thompson on the What Happened When podcast, All Elite Wrestling star Eddie Kingston explained how former WWE and TNA wrestler Low Ki’s advice helped him get back on track when he was questioning his future in wrestling during the COVID pandemic.

“When I said I started maturing more during the pandemic, it’s because [Low Ki] was talking to me more during the pandemic,” Eddie Kingston began. “He did some, as Ortiz calls it, ‘some Mr. Miyagi shit’ to me. He knew I was kind of down and out about maybe, possibly having to call it (a career) because of COVID and having to go back home and feeling like a loser. So he just Mr. Miyagi’d me and was like, ‘Yeah, you should probably get ready to do that. You kind of failed.’ I was like, ‘What the fu*k?’

“He was like, ‘You just weren’t focused. Maybe if you got fuc*ing focused.’ He helped me out that way. I started getting focused. Things started falling into place. It was very weird how that kind of happened. I definitely give, not only for his wrestling stuff, but for his friendship and advice, which definitely helped me.”

Eddie Kingston Was Then Able To Focus And Eventually Arrived In AEW

“Homicide, same thing. I don’t think I’ve told anyone that. It was a weird thing. I started to get more focused. He was on my ass about it. Next thing you know, I cut that promo at ICW, next thing you know, I’m getting the chance to beat up Cody, next thing you know I’m getting a contract,” Eddie Kingston said. [H/T: Fightful]
