WWE is reportedly set to make its return to Puerto Rico next year for a major premium live event.
According to a new report from POST Wrestling, WWE will be returning to Puerto Rico for WWE Backlash. Currently, the show has no official date. However, a source with Post notes the PLE is set to take place on May 9, 2026. As for the location, the report mentions that the event is set to take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Should the report be true, this would be the second time WWE has held Backlash in Puerto Rico. Previously, 2023’s Backlash took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot. The event was a massive success and included Bad Bunny’s appearance in the ring. The star famously took part in the now legendary San Juan Street Fight match between Bad Bunny and Damien Priest.
While it’s unclear whether or not the musician will be on hand, it would make sense for him to be. The star is not currently scheduled for any shows between March and May of 2026, and following his previously highly praised appearance in the ring, he could shock fans by once again appearing for a match.
