Kevin Nash is no fan of wrestlers taking dangerous bumps and basically says anyone doing it has failed.
Speaking during a recent episode of his Kliq This Podcast (via Fightful), Nash was asked about comments William Regal made recently about AEW Worlds End. Regal was talking about the criticism resulting from a spot in which Kyle Fletcher was dropped on his head by Jon Moxley. Regal talked about the issues of such a move, and Nash agreed.
“The beauty of this business is that it’s supposed to be a f-cking work,” said Nash. “You’re supposed to go to the ring, and when you leave the ring 17 minutes later, you’re supposed to be in the exact same shape. That’s the art of it. If you’re in a neck board with the medics around you, you have failed.”
Nash criticized the length of certain spots
Nash would later criticize that the spot took over 10 minutes to get to the move. To Nash, he said, that was nothing but looking for a response, and something he wouldn’t do during his time, even if he was asked.
“If it’s a spot that you’re both on the top rope and it takes you guys 11 minutes to (set up). Really? That’s like having a premonition that you’re going to get in an auto wreck in a half hour, you leave the house, you go back in the house, put yours keys on the table and watch TV,” Nash said. “11 minutes you’re on the top turnbuckle and you’re expecting at some point to get a response. They respond, ‘Jesus, about f-cking time.’ I see some of this sh-t where they just throw each other on their heads.
“Thank God I was big, but you weren’t going to just do shit to me. F-cck that. I ain’t doing that. No reason to. ‘How am I going to get you off your feet?’ Throw a working punch, I’ll fly back.”
