AEW’s Paul Wight Shares Weight Loss Goal in Latest Fitness Update

Paul Wight, fka Big Show, has undergone one of the most impressive physical transformations in pro wrestling. The man fans once knew as “The World’s Largest Athlete” has been working on shaping his body for years, and it seems like he is on the way to becoming the leanest he has ever been in his career.

Health scares and the wear and tear of a 30-year career have all played a part in Wight’s fitness journey. It all started in the early 1990s when he had surgery on his pituitary gland to deal with acromegaly, the same condition that caused Andre the Giant’s passing.

Wight debuted in WCW and soon impressed everyone with his athleticism and smooth in-ring moves, despite his size. However, with time, he started struggling with his weight issues. During the mid-2000s, he pushed over 500 lbs. Wight has also gone through several surgeries from 2017 to 2025, including a full hip replacement and multiple knee operations.

However, with rallying cries from fellow wrestlers like John Cena and his own determination, Wight has transformed his physique en route to his desired weight.

Paul Wight Shares His Current Fitness Journey

As of February 4, 2026, Wight shared on X that he currently weighs 393 lbs. That is a significant drop from his earlier weight. Moreover, his goal is to get down to 360 lbs, a weight he hasn’t consistently recorded since his early 20s. Wight wrote, “Currently 393lbs. Shooting for 360lbs. Thank you to everyone that’s supported me over the years. #gymselfie#gymgoals”

Multiple injuries and operations forced him to change how he works out. Instead of high-impact cardio like long bike rides, he now focuses on training that is joint-friendly. His current routine includes functional strength training a couple of times a week.

His diet has changed just as much. Wight moved away from the days when he could eat tens of tacos or several burgers in one sitting. During an earlier interview with talkSPORT, he revealed that his daily diet comprised 13,000-16,000 calories.

Now he sticks to a high-protein plan, and thanks to that discipline, he is now just 33 lbs away from his goal.

Fans are also curious about whether he will wrestle again. Wight hasn’t had a match in AEW since November 2023. In 2025, he had minor back surgery, but he has made it clear he is not thinking about retirement right now.
