Paul Wight believes a fellow giant is not being used to his full potential by AEW.
During his recent interview with Joey Franchize, Paul Wight (FKA The Big Show in WWE) shared that Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita are two AEW stars who have impressed him a lot recently. However, he also believes Satnam Singh is very talented but feels like the promotion hasn’t used him to his full potential yet.
Wight noted that he believes Satnam Singh needs someone to help him with his presentation and that he could play that role.
“Talent that’s not really being used yet to their capacity, Satnam Singh. That’s an easy one for me. That’s a direct line. Like when I first started, I had Taker in the corner because I tagged with Taker when I first started in the WWF. I can do the same thing with Satnam,” Paul Wight said.
“That’s one of the things, because he’s such a good kid and a good guy. But he’s just a massive human being, Satnam’s huge. Gotta be 7’1/7’2, 380/390lbs. I’ve seen him bench press like 500 lbs. He’s a monster. But he just needs somebody to help him on presence,” Wight continued.
Paul Wight recalls the advice he once gave to Satnam Singh
Speaking further, Paul Wight recalled pulling Satnam Singh aside after seeing him flip off a referee. He told him giants like him shouldn’t give anyone the bird, but should instead intimidate them with only their eye contact. He believes the lessons he learned from the likes of The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, and Andre the Giant will be useful to help Singh.
“I think I gave him grief one time because we were at a show somewhere and he flipped the referee the bird, and I pulled him aside like, ‘What are you doing flipping somebody off? You’re a giant. You don’t do that. This [eye contact] is all you need. You need to look at that referee and have that referee poop his pants.’ If you’re flipping the bird, I said, ‘What are you? Some Bollywood kid that got kicked out of the club, and you’re mad because your fake ID didn’t get you in?'” Wight said.
“He started laughing. I’m like, ‘Come on, man.’ Because it’s tough when you’re this big, and you’re also athletic, to remember how big you are and your presence. I take those same lessons that I got from Mark Calaway, that I got from Hulk [Hogan], about presence and stuff. Andre [the Giant] understood that because Andre is the best ever. It took me a while. I got it. So now, hopefully, I can save Satnam a little bit of time and headache, and help him along the way,” Wight concluded.
