Roman Reigns quietly reached another historic benchmark following his Royal Rumble 2026 victory, officially extending Hulk Hogan’s record in WrestleMania main event appearances.
With his challenge to CM Punk now set, Reigns will probably headline in the Main Event of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
This match will mark Reigns’ eleventh WrestleMania main event across ten different editions — the most by any wrestler in company history.
In doing so, he has already moved past Hogan’s long-standing mark of eight main events, a record that stood for decades as the gold standard of sustained WrestleMania prominence.
Roman Reigns Sets Unmatched WrestleMania Main Event Record
Reigns’ milestone is notable not only for volume but also for consistency. From WrestleMania 37 through WrestleMania 42, he has headlined the event six consecutive years, breaking Hogan’s previous record of five straight main events set between WrestleMania five and nine.
His WrestleMania resume now spans more than a decade, beginning at WrestleMania 31 and continuing uninterrupted through multiple eras of WWE. With WrestleMania 42 included, Reigns will also equal the combined WrestleMania main event total of Shawn Michaels (Mr. WrestleMania) and John Cena — five and six respectively — reaching eleven overall.
While Reigns holds the records for total and consecutive main events, Hogan still owns the edge in main event victories with seven. Reigns currently has six wins in WrestleMania main events and could tie that mark if he defeats Punk at WrestleMania 42.
