CM Punk hopes he can run it back with a bitter rival at WWE Crown Jewel.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk was a recent guest on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. Punk was asked whether he gets a kick out of tormenting Drew McIntyre and if their feud will ever truly end.
The Straight Edge Superstar responded by putting over Cody Rhodes in humorous fashion. He expressed disappointment that The American Nightmare did not win the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble, as it could have set up a clash between the two at WrestleMania.
“I love Cody, I wish he won the Royal Rumble. You know what I mean? He could have picked me. We could have had an all-timer. But yeah, I don’t like Drew,” CM Punk said.
Though Punk reaffirmed his disdain for McIntyre, he said he hopes The Scottish Warrior can remain Undisputed WWE Champion until Crown Jewel so the two can go one-on-one again.
“I can only hope… it’s weird. It’s like the Dodgers. I hope he loses the title because it’ll be painful for him, but there’s also part of me that’s just like, ‘man, you know what? If he holds on to it, if he can hold on to it until our next Crown Jewel event and then it’s me and Drew?’ Oh man, I would love nothing more than pinning him again,” said CM Punk.
Drew McIntyre successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sami Zayn at last Saturday’s Royal Rumble. The Scottish Warrior later namedropped Roman Reigns and CM Punk in a post-event interview.
