Charlotte Flair has already been a part of a WWE WrestleMania main event, and believes the women of WWE will eventually do it once again.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated in a recent interview, Flair was asked if she believe women will ever main event a WrestleMania agin. Flair said she believes it can happen at any given year, and it simply comes down to stories.
“I think any given year the women can main event, it just depends on who has the best story,” Flair said. “I don’t think anyone should be given the main event spot just because they’re a man or a woman. I think it should be who has the best story.”
Flair, of course, is no stranger to being in main events. She was part of the trio of women, alongside Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey, headlined WrestleMania 35. That main event was the first time that women had done so, and wouldn’t be the last. Since then, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair also did it at WrestleMania 37. Since then, no women have, although it’s not impossible to see it happening sooner rather than later.
Currently, the only set match for WrestleMania 42 is, coincidentally, one of the main event matches. CM Punk and Roman Reigns will go toe-to-toe on Sunday night’s edition of the show, with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line.
