Every WWE Superstar Who Won Elimination Chamber But Lost At WrestleMania

Winning inside the Elimination Chamber is supposed to be a golden ticket to WrestleMania glory. The structure is unforgiving, the field is stacked, and survival usually signals destiny. Yet for some Superstars, the road from Chamber to WrestleMania ended not with confetti — but with heartbreak.

Here are eight Superstars who conquered the Chamber, only to fall on the grandest stage of them all.

Eight Superstars Who Couldn’t Finish The Job At WrestleMania After Winning At Elimination Chamber

Edge (2009): Edge had one of the wildest nights in Chamber history at No Way Out. He lost the WWE Championship in the opening match, then ambushed Kofi Kingston to enter the second Chamber and win the World Heavyweight Championship. At WrestleMania 25, however, John Cena pinned Big Show in a Triple Threat match to win the title, ending Edge’s reign — without Edge even eating the pin.

Randy Orton (2014): Randy Orton retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship inside the Chamber after outside interference from The Wyatt Family and Kane. He even hid inside a pod to avoid damage. At WrestleMania 30, Daniel Bryan overcame both Orton and Batista in a Triple Threat match to capture the title, closing the show in one of WWE’s most celebrated moments.

Bray Wyatt (2017): Wyatt captured his first WWE Championship by eliminating John Cena and then AJ Styles inside the Chamber. His reign lasted 49 days before Randy Orton — the 2017 Royal Rumble winner and former Wyatt Family ally — defeated him at WrestleMania 33.

Alexa Bliss (2018): Bliss retained her Raw Women’s Championship in the first-ever women’s Chamber match. She outlasted the field and pinned Sasha Banks. At WrestleMania 34, though, she lost the title to Nia Jax in a feud centered on betrayal and bullying.

Daniel Bryan (2019): Bryan entered the Chamber first and lasted over 36 minutes to retain the WWE Championship. He defeated Kofi Kingston in the final moments. At WrestleMania 35, however, Kingston completed “KofiMania” by pinning Bryan to win the title.

Shayna Baszler (2020): Baszler delivered the most dominant Chamber performance ever, eliminating all five opponents herself. Despite that statement, she lost to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36 in her title challenge.

Asuka (2023): Asuka won the women’s Chamber match to become No. 1 contender. She later challenged Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 39 but fell after a K.O.D., despite briefly locking in an armbar.

Roman Reigns (2018): Reigns survived Braun Strowman in the first-ever seven-man Chamber match to earn a Universal Title shot. At WrestleMania 34, Brock Lesnar stunned many by pinning Reigns after a sixth F-5 to retain the championship.

The Elimination Chamber promises opportunity, but WrestleMania delivers judgment. For these eight Superstars, the Chamber was only half the battle — and at WrestleMania, the final bell didn’t ring in their favor.
