Top AEW Star Reacts To Critics Trying To Write Him Off

AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley is not concerned about critics, as he believes he has not yet reached his peak.

The AEW Continental Champion believes he still has more to give and that his best performances are still ahead of him. Despite the negativity surrounding him, he keeps showing up and proving people wrong inside the ring.

Speaking on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Moxley discussed his upcoming match against Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Revolution. Paquette asked him what the Continental Championship means to him. She noted that he has faced opponents from many different wrestling styles.

Jon Moxley says people have tried to write him off ‘hundreds of times’

Moxley said the title represents more than just a trophy. Moxley explained that the effort in the Continental Classic gave the championship deeper meaning. He added that the title has become part of his identity. He also said he wants to inspire others to reach their full potential.

On the topic of people writing him off, Moxley pushed back and made it clear he is nowhere near finished. He said, “I am not at my peak yet. Hundreds of times people have wanted to write me off going back decades. Everybody will never do that. But there’s still a whole another level that exists that I can reach.”

Moxley picked up the Continental Championship by beating Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic final at AEW Worlds End. Since then, he has put together strong showings against Josh Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, El Clon, Mark Davis, and more.

This weekend, he takes on his toughest test yet when he squares off with Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Revolution.
