WWE Signs Daughter of WCW Legend and AEW Producer — Report

WWE has reportedly signed the daughter of a WCW legend and current AEW producer.

Former WCW Cruiserweight Champion Dean Malenko’s daughter, Marie Malenko, followed in her father’s and grandfather Boris Malenko’s footsteps by making her pro wrestling debut at a Pro Wrestling NOAH event on February 2. She teamed up with Sofia Sivan and lost to Alivia Rose and Great Sakuya in a three-way tag team match, which also featured Dream Girl Ellie and ZONES.

Now, Bodyslam+ is reporting that Marie Malenko has signed with WWE. Reports indicated that she recently took part in a tryout with the promotion, and it will be interesting to see when the third-generation wrestler reports to the WWE Performance Center and starts her journey with the company.

The new WWE signee has competed in three other matches since her debut. Her most recent performance was at a Pro Wrestling NOAH event on February 9, where she teamed up with Miyuki Takase and Sofia Sivan to defeat Alivia Rose, Dream Girl Ellie, and ZONES.

Former ROH wrestler Erick Stevens revealed that he trained with the WCW legend’s daughter. He said, “I’ve trained with this young lady. She’s definitely a Malenko. With more experience, I think she could become one of the best technical wrestlers in the country.”

Following the end of his 18-year run as a road agent in WWE, Dean Malenko signed with AEW in 2019 as a senior producer. He also made a few on-screen appearances for the promotion, including the October 8, 2021, episode of Rampage, where Tony Khan thanked him, Jerry Lynn, Taz, and Chris Jericho for inspiring him.
