President Donald Trump visited Memphis on Monday for a roundtable on crime in the city. The event was attended by WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.
Trump was at the Memphis Air National Guard Base on Monday. The U.S. President was in town for a roundtable to discuss the Memphis Safe Task Force’s progress in the city. According to Memphis’ Commercial Appeal, Lawler was spotted taking photos with members of the National Guard while waiting for the president to arrive at the base.
It was noted that Lawler has a “long history” of supporting Trump. This includes supporting Trump during the president’s initial run for office in 2016. Lawler also appeared at Trump’s 2018 Landers Center rally and has publicly praised Trump online.
Both Jerry Lawler and Donald Trump are WWE Hall of Fame inductees. Lawler was inducted back in 2007, while Trump was enshrined in 2013.
Jerry Lawler believes he has one more match left in him
Lawler suffered a stroke, his third, in September 2025. During an interview with Action News 5, Lawler shared that he was still recovering from the stroke. Lawler has dealt with a number of health issues in recent years, and he said the most recent stroke has left him color blind.
“I’m color blind. I can’t see the colors.”
Despite his health issues, the 76-year-old said that he has not put the idea of returning to the ring for one last match to rest.
“I’ve not put it out of my mind. I have one more match in there somewhere,” Jerry Lawler said.
Despite Lawler’s optimism about a final match, longtime broadcast partner Jim Ross said he doesn’t see that happening, although he supports Lawler’s attempt to do so.
