AEW’s Tony Khan Refuses To Talk About Two Major Subjects — Report

Tony Khan reportedly won’t address two major topics that made headlines recently.

According to a report from F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer (via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter), AEW owner Tony Khan will not talk about Toni Storm’s status and the report that he attempted to buy WWE in 2023.

“I was told outright before even asking about the subject that the two subjects Tony Khan will not talk about are Toni Storm and the story about his company putting in a bid to purchase WWE in 2023,” Meltzer wrote. “Storm did an injury angle on television and did an autograph signing over the weekend not selling any injury at all.”

The March 18 episode of AEW Dynamite saw Toni Storm taken out by a mystery assailant. It was later reported that the angle was used to cover up a real-life issue affecting the former AEW Women’s World Champion, and she would be out for an extended period. Fightful (via Fightful Select) later reported that AEW is prepared for her to not be cleared to wrestle through 2026 ”at a minimum.”

The story got a little more confusing when Meltzer reported that Storm is sidelined, but it’s not due to an injury. There’s been plenty of speculation about her status, but it appears that the AEW owner will not comment on it. Meltzer also noted that AEW only learned about Storm’s status on March 18, the day of the Dynamite taping in Fresno, California.

In regard to Khan attempting to buy WWE, POST Wrestling reported that Khan submitted a bid through his Base 10 company. According to legal documents, Base 10 placed a $6.9 billion bid to buy WWE in 2023.
