The Berwyn Police Department has ruled out reports of a stabbing at a recent independent wrestling event.
According to POST Wrestling, authorities confirmed that no stabbing occurred during Ruthless Pro Wrestling’s OMEGA event last month in Illinois.
Initial claims, first reported by Cultaholic Wrestling, suggested that Krule, also known as Mads Krule Krügger, had been stabbed by an individual at the show on Saturday, March 28.
Krule headlined the event in a Last Man Standing match against defending RPW Rustbelt Deathmatch World Champion SHLAK at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, Illinois.
Clips that circulated on social media showed multiple wrestlers and staff members surrounding a disruptive individual and removing him from the venue. Another video appeared to show the individual approaching Krule, who then threw the first punch. No weapon was visible in the footage.
Police detective investigated alleged Berwyn indie show stabbing
Per POST Wrestling, Detective William Massuci of the Berwyn Police Department led the investigation after reports of a possible stabbing surfaced. He contacted an individual identified as a manager for the promotion, whose name was redacted in the police report.
The manager stated that the fan had been heckling earlier in the night, appeared intoxicated, and was warned by staff to control their behavior or face removal. According to the account, the situation escalated after the event when the fan allegedly confronted the former MLW World Champion, prompting staff to intervene.
However, this version differs slightly from the circulating footage, which appears to show Krule initiating physical contact. Despite the conflicting perspectives, both the manager and Krule — whose name was also redacted in the report — confirmed that no stabbing took place.
Authorities have since closed the case, stating there was no stabbing and that the wrestler does not wish to pursue any criminal charges.
