Triple H Reveals Scary WWE Crowd Incident Where Stephanie McMahon Was Nearly Hit

Triple H recently shared a wild story from WWE’s past where Stephanie McMahon almost got hit by a baseball during a show.

Back in the Attitude Era, things were different, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were among the most hated heels on TV. Not just storyline hate, but actual fans anger too. The whole McMahon-Helmsley Era blurred lines. Fans didn’t always separate fiction from reality. One night, it got dangerous really fast.

Speaking on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, Triple H looked back at one moment. A fan threw a baseball. He said, “You remember somebody throwing a baseball?” Stephanie immediately remembered. She said, “Oh yeah, that was Houston.”

He said, “Like, craziest yeah, people used to when you know you have heat. Did it hit you?” She replied, “Thank God it bounced first. But it bounced first and then it hit me in the belly. It was thrown from the upper rafters. That’s terrifying. Yeah, it was pretty scary because if it hit me in the head from up there, it would’ve done some more damage.”

Triple H added, “I just remember seeing it out of the side corner of my eye, seeing something coming down and being like, ‘Oh shit.'” Stephanie said, “But at that time, we had to watch for fans jumping the railing. All the time. I told you about the dip spit they would throw not tacks, what would they throw?”

Triple H answered, “They’d throw batteries.” She followed, “Yeah. And bottle caps.” Triple H explained it further. “You know, in the time before people had phones that could take photos, people had cameras, in those cameras, they had yeah, no, like AA batteries.”

He said, “But even so, it used to boggle my mind, the things that fans would think of. Like, I remember we had this was Shawn Michaels and I were in DX, and we had a riot in Little Rock, Arkansas, and couldn’t go there for a long time, and they started by throwing batteries. But as we were walking, going towards the back, like a big fight broke out and we kind of had to fight our way to the back.”

He continued, “And as we were getting back there, something hit me. I thought somebody punched me, boom. Hit me right in the face. And I remember thinking like, ‘What the f*ck? That was hard as sh*t. Like what was that?’ And looking down and somebody had taken like a paper cup and drank all the drink out of it and then like screwed it down so it was like a big ball of ice inside this paper cup. And I don’t know where it came from, but it just boom, right in the eye.”
