WWE’s busy WrestleMania week schedule wasn’t limited to official appearances. One rising star, Royce Keys, quietly showed up elsewhere — and not for business, but for something far more personal.
According to Fightful Select, Royce Keys was among those in attendance at GCW’s Joey Janela’s Spring Break X on April 17 in Las Vegas. Moreover, the reason behind his presence adds a meaningful layer to the story.
Royce Keys shows support for Brodie Lee Jr. at GCW Spring Break X
Fightful Select reported that Keys, along with Ricky Saints, attended the event specifically to support Brodie Lee Jr. during his in-ring debut.
The 14-year-old stepped into the spotlight in the main event. He made a decisive impact as he secured a submission victory over Joey Janela using a Sharpshooter. This finish had the crowd tapping into the moment as much as the move.
Brodie Lee Jr.’s performance paid tribute to his late father, incorporating signature offense like lariats and Sister Abigail. After the match, he celebrated in the ring alongside his mother, Amanda Huber, and younger brother Nolan, closing the night on an emotional high.
The presence of Keys and Saints wasn’t random. Both shared ties with Brodie Lee during their time in AEW, where Lee served as a respected locker room leader. Keys, in particular, has previously spoken about receiving guidance from Lee early in his career — advice that helped shape his in-ring identity.
Now positioned as a SmackDown talent after his 2026 Royal Rumble debut, Keys has quickly built momentum, including a win in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Still, this appearance showed a different side — one that didn’t involve titles or spotlights, just respect.
While no storyline came out of it, the gesture resonated. In a business built on rivalries, this was a reminder that some bonds don’t break kayfabe — they simply carry on.
