Roman Reigns was originally scheduled for several WWE RAW appearances after WrestleMania 42. Following his win, he stated that he would be appearing regularly on television.
WWE listings showed him advertised for eight consecutive RAW dates. These included shows across the United States and Europe through May and June. The announced schedule listed dates in Omaha, Knoxville, Greensboro, Columbus, Turin, Paris, Baltimore, and London.
Roman Reigns had been appearing consistently on TV for past several weeks. He is also set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu at WWE Backlash on May 9. However, the situation changed ahead of June. Reigns was removed from all four June RAW listings on WWE’s official website.
The updated promotional material for those shows also no longer included him. This change drew attention following the earlier announcements.
Roman Reigns was reportedly pulled from WWE TV due to a break in schedule
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio Daily Update, Dave Meltzer revealed that Roman Reigns was pulled from the announced June TV dates because he is not scheduled to appear at the Saudi Arabia PLE Night of Champions.
He said, “Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TV’s building that show. If he loses the title next week, of course that would be a change and there will be more to the story. If he retains, that’s probably all it is. But Reigns is no longer scheduled for any television in June.” [H/T: f4wonline]
UPDATE: According to PWInsider, the change in Reigns’ status is due to an internal “clerical error” rather than any creative shift or contract concern.
