The Miz has addressed speculation surrounding Danhausen’s mystery tag team partner for WWE Backlash.
The Miz and Kit Wilson are set to face Danhausen and a mystery partner at the May 9 premium live event. Rumors have circulated online that CM Punk could potentially be revealed as the partner.
Appearing on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike, The Miz made it clear he is not concerned about who Danhausen brings to the match.
“I don’t care who he brings. I’ve seen the internet going in an uproar on who this mystery partner could be. I don’t care who it is. Whoever it is is going to lose to me, myself and my mentee, Kit Wilson,” Miz said.
The multi-time World Champion went on to praise Wilson, calling him one of WWE’s top performers and someone deserving of the spotlight at Backlash.
Miz also mocked Danhausen’s character, dismissing the idea that his so-called curse has any real effect.
“Danhausen is a clown and I will showcase exactly what he is. And that is a clown. Look at him. He has face paint, all right? And he’s cursing people and people are believing in a curse.”
Miz then referenced a recent moment where he was “blown up” on live television, insisting it had nothing to do with any supernatural curse.
“Never in my 20 years have I ever been blown up on TV until Danhausen comes in and curses everybody. It’s not a curse. It’s not a curse.”
