Former WWE Talent Reveals What Led to Her Sudden Exit

Former WWE EVOLVE wrestler Masyn Holiday, whose real name is Darci Khan, has confirmed that she is no longer with WWE and has shared the personal reasons behind her exit.

Rumors about Khan’s exit started when fans noticed changes to her social media accounts. She removed the Masyn Holiday name and switched back to using her real name. Since similar changes have often happened before WWE departures, many began speculating that she had left the company.

Those rumors gained traction when reports emerged that Khan had chosen to leave WWE rather than WWE releasing her. She has now addressed the situation publicly. Khan revealed that her ongoing struggles with mental health played a major role in the decision.

Darci Khan says depression and anxiety led her to leave WWE

In a social media video, Khan explained that she had been unhappy for quite some time. She felt like she was losing touch with herself while pursuing a wrestling career.

She shared that her depression and anxiety became so overwhelming. As a result of that, she no longer recognized the person she saw in the mirror. For months, she continued pushing forward while dealing with constant emotional struggles because she was afraid of leaving without a clear plan for the future.

“I have left the WWE. I was very, very, very, very, extremely unhappy at that job. My depression and anxiety at an all-time high. Lost myself, I would look at myself in the mirror and not even know who I was anymore. It was that bad. I cried for months straight, and what kept me there was me telling myself, ‘You don’t know what you’re gonna do next; what if you leave the job and you’re still depressed and you’re still miserable,’” she said.

Darci Khan admitted that once she finally decided to leave, she felt an immediate sense of relief. But she made it clear that she has no ill feelings toward WWE

“Those things kept me where I wasn’t supposed to be for way too long. And literally the day that I left, it felt like the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders. I’m not saying the WWE is bad, not bashing nobody at WWE, love the people there, but it’s just for me and my purpose on this Earth; it just wasn’t aligning at all. The things I desire in life and the places the WWE would take me was just, they weren’t aligned,” she added.

Khan also spoke about the moment she finally decided to walk away. On the day she left, she arrived at training feeling emotional and overwhelmed. She revealed that she prayed for guidance before practice. When a coach noticed something was wrong and asked if she wanted to talk, Khan finally admitted that she no longer wanted to wrestle.

“The day I quit, I did not plan to quit at all; it was all God. Before I walked in the building, I prayed to God. I wrote in my journal at 1:20 pm. I said, ‘God, I need you to guide me through this practice,’ because I was on the verge of tears the whole day. I knew I didn’t have the strength to make it through practice by myself because I did not want to be there; I did not want to wrestle anymore. It was a terrible weight I couldn’t hold myself. I walk into practice, my coach comes up to me, she goes, ‘What’s wrong Masyn?’ And it all just came out, and she goes, ‘Do you want to talk about it?’ I knew when I was gonna quit I was gonna talk to my coach. So I was like, ‘You know what, I want to talk about it. I don’t want to wrestle anymore,’ and she said, ‘Honestly, I can see it on your face every day,’” Khan said.
