Sheamus Set to Leave WWE When His Contract Expires — Report

Sheamus could soon be ending his long WWE run. Reports claim the former WWE World Champion plans leaving soon after his current WWE contract is reportedly nearing its expiration date.

Fans last saw Sheamus wrestle on WWE RAW in November 2025. He teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio that night. They defeated members of The Judgment Day during the show. Soon after, a shoulder injury required surgery and recovery. Since then, he has stayed away from WWE programming.

Why Sheamus is reportedly leaving WWE after nearly two decades

According to Fightful Select, Sheamus rejected WWE’s latest contract offer. WWE reportedly presented him with a restructured extension. However, Sheamus decided not to accept the proposed deal.

Another detail added more speculation about his future recently. WWE moved Sheamus into the alumni section on WWE.com. That change usually happens after a talent leaves WWE. Still, the company has not released any official statement.

Sheamus also changed his social media profiles recently. He removed his WWE ring name from every account. Instead, he now uses his real name, S. Farrelly. Interestingly, AEW World Champion MJF also reacted after reports surfaced.

He shared screenshots from a 2022 exchange with Sheamus. MJF later added one message for wrestling fans online. On his Instagram Story, he wrote, “Bring that smoke O’Shaunessy.”

Sheamus joined the company developmental back in 2007. He spent nearly twenty years building an incredible WWE career. He also became one of WWE’s most decorated champions ever. It will be interesting seeing what’s next after his contract expires.
