Bully Ray thinks very highly of a certain WWE NXT star.
Kendal Grey‘s career as a pro wrestler has yielded great success so far. According to WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray, it will likely remain that way.
On the latest edition of Busted Open After Dark, Ray heaped praise on Grey, who headlined this week’s WWE NXT episode with a successful NXT Women’s Championship defense. Coming out of it, Ray sees potential for Grey to ascend even higher in WWE. And for anyone who thinks differently, he has a simple message for them.
“If you don’t think Kendal Grey is the future, you’re wrong,” Ray said (H/T WrestlingNewsCo). “I liked the match. I thought it was a good match, I thought it was what it needed to be for TV tonight…I know that she’s currently the NXT Women’s Champion, but I would venture to say that tonight was the biggest win of Kendal Grey’s career. She beat Nattie Neidhart. She beat Nattie; she didn’t beat Natalya. Beat the version of Nattie that’s been kicking chicks’ ass left and right. She beat the Nattie that defeated Jaida Parker. She beat the Nattie that prides herself on humbling women. It’s a big win for Kendal, something that she can pound her chest and stand proud about…I see tremendous potential in this woman,” he added.
As Ray alluded to, Grey conquered WWE veteran Nattie (also known as Natalya) to retain her NXT Women’s Championship this week. For Grey, it marked the first defense in her reign as NXT Women’s Champion, which kicked off at the Great American Bash. For Nattie, it marked her first NXT title shot since 2024.
Grey, a former amateur wrestler at Life University, joined WWE in 2023 through the NIL program.
